3 Day Isle of Skye & Highlands Tour

We just got back stateside after a wonderful trip to Scotland that included the 3 Day Isle of Skye & Highlands Tour with Heather. We had a wonderful time seeing so many amazing towns on the way up and down from Edinburgh including Fort Augustus to see Loch Ness, Dunkeld, Fort William and other quick stops for refreshments or toilets.
We could not have asked for better weather the day we were on Skye, not a raindrop in sight until we got back into Portree! We visited The Faerie Glens, Kilt Rock, The Quiraing Mountains, Neist Point, Old Man of Storr and enjoyed beautiful photo ops all along the way!
The town of Portree was a great stop for the two evenings. We had the pleasure of staying in the Portree Guest House just outside the Town Centre and enjoyed wonderful meals at The Cuchillian and The Granary. On our last day we visited Eilean Donan Castle and Glen Coe and we passed by Doune Castle, Stirling Castle and the Kelpies Statues.
Heather provided wonderful history, geological knowledge and fun folk stories the whole way! This was our second Rabbies tour having done the 1 Day Tour to Loch Ness with Al several years before. It was hard to choose only 10 photos to post because you simply couldn't take a bad photo on Skye! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who has been to Scotland before but not up to the highlands, it was a great introduction to the rich history and beautiful landscapes! |
