Lovely photos John. I hope I get to see the Puffins too on my tour Rachel H

Thank you, Rachel! If you’re going to Staffa, I’m almost positive you’ll see them. We sat in silence like we had Ben told to do, and within minutes, they were EVERYWHERE! It was magical!

Subject: July 2- July 5: Great Mull
OK, so I’ve traveled with Rabbie’s for several tours now and Magical Mull was one of my favorites! First off, James was a terrific guide and driver, and we were blessed with a fabulous group of fellow travelers from ALL over the place: America, the UK, Moscow, and Germany. You’re only as good as your group and your tour guide, and we were VERY lucky!

The tour itself was great, and visiting Tobermory was something I’ve always wanted to do. Great B and B as well, but what NO ONE tells you is that all of the B and Bs are located up an almost vertical set of roads. If you’re not in anything but tip-top shape, best not forget anything before heading down, otherwise your heart may just explode inside your chest. Who wants that? So messy!

Mull is indescribably beautiful, and visiting Iona and Staffa was an added thrill. Staffa is NOT for the faint-of-heart, but to sit among the puffins—and as the boat guide said, “Sit and wait—they’ll come to you!” Which they did. 100 tourists, sitting in rapt silence, all you hear is the wind and the flapping of small wings—folks, it doesn’t get much more “magical” than that. I promise.

There is much to see, historically, as well, from Iona Abbey to the magnificent standing stones near Kilmartin Glen, visited in teeming rain, which only added to the mystery.

Thanks again, James and Rabbie’s, for providing David and me with such a memorable trip!
